Meander Medical Center in Amersfoort recently expanded with a new wing, seamlessly integrated with the original design by atelier PRO in 2013. The addition maintains the core qualities of the hospital: a patient-centered environment with privacy, clear wayfinding, landscape views, and a sustainable, flexible layout. It primarily extends the Hotfloors—the intensive care and surgical departments—housing the Coronary Care Unit, an Eye Day Center with a view, and two hybrid operating rooms designed for advanced procedures with state-of-the-art imaging technology.
